<p>ich bin gerad an der Socket programmierung dran nur habe ich ein verständnis Problem. Ich habe mir einige Beispielcodes dazu angeguckt und festgestellt, dass in diesen Codes mit den Strukturen sockaddr_in und hostent gearbeitet wird. Aber warum wird mit beiden gearbeitet, in beide Strukturen werden doch die selben informationen geschrieben? Oder sehe ich das falsch, kann mich da mal jemand aufklären?</p>

<p>In hostent werden Informationen über einen bestimmten Host gespeichert (am Interessantesten wohl Hostname und Ip-Adresse). In sockaddr_in werden Adressinformationen zu einem Prozess, der kontaktiert werden soll gespeichert (Client) bzw. um festzulegen welche Datenpakete für den Prozess bestimmt sind (Server).</p>
