<![CDATA[Wirless - Lan unter Linux]]>Mein Problem gerade ist mit de Wirless - Lan.
Das Internet unter Windows Vista läuft optimal aber das Linux hat wieder mal probleme mit Internet und funktioniert irgendwie nicht.

Und meine Frage lautet was kann ich jetzt machen damit das Internet unter Linux einwandfrei funktionert ?
Kann man da irgendwelche Einstellungen ändern damit es auch unter Linux funktioniert ?
Ich habe übrigens Belkin wirless Router und intel wireless wifi link 4965agn

Es ist nicht nur ein Problem es sind gleich mehrere die W-lan Karte wird nicht erkannt und somit werden automatisch keine Netzwerke erkannt und Internetverbindung geht unter Linux mit dem W-lan nicht aber bei Windows funktioniert es irgendwie was ich eigenartig finde und mit Netzwerkkabel funktioniert es auf beide Systeme
und wie gesagt habe ich Belkin wirless Router und intel wireless wifi link 4965agn

Du brauchst Dir Firmware fuer Deine Karte. Die ist nicht frei und somit nicht in Ubunto enthalten.
Trage in etc/apt/source.list die non-free section ein,

aptitude update
aptitude install firmware-iwlwifi

Ja, der Treiber für die IWL3945 und IWL4965 heißt iwlwifi
im debian hast du schon gewonnen, wenn du im root-terminal

aptitude install firmware-iwlwifi

eingibst und alles, was der von dir will bestätigst..
Dann sollte die Karte relativ problemfrei funktionieren (meine 3945 leider nicht- da gibts scheinbar nen bug, den ich noch nicht rausgefieselt habe)

Ist es vielleicht zufällig dieser Bug? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/285291
Der war ziemlich böse, weil das System sporadisch komplett eingefroren ist und in keiner Log-Datei irgendwas über die Wifi-Karte als Ursache stand. Aber debugfs im Kernel zu deaktivieren war tatsächlich die Lösung, die bei mir funktioniert hat.

Das Paket heißt auch nicht "fir", sondern "firmware-iwlwifi"; sieht aus als hättest du dich vertippt.

Das ist die erste hardwarebezogene Funktion von Linux, die imo besser läuft als in Windows.
Der Trick bei mir war: Die WLAN Karte braucht einen propiertären Treiber, der (natürlich?) in Linux nicht standardmäßig vorhanden ist, oder automatisch geladen wird. Hallo 1998 😉 Mit einem passendem Windowstreiber per ndiswrapper geladen, klappt's dann aber meistens blendend.

Sollte aber auch per GUI machbar sein, adept hat dafür eine Option unter "Adept/Manage Repositories" und Synaptic bestimmt auch.

Headhunter: Naja, wenn die Lizenzen immer noch Schwierigkeiten machen, dann gibts eben weiterhin 1998-Prozedere. Wobei das ja zB bei proprietären Graka-Treibern schon extrem komfortabel ist, wesentlich angenehmer als unter Windows zumindestens.

Und ndiswrapper wird wohl hoffentlich auch relativ bald überflüssig sein, aktuelle Kernels werden da immer besser.
