wie kann ich den ganzzahligen Teil einer float auslesen?

aus 3.1415 mache 3
aus -3.1415 mache -3

ceil() und floor() erfüllen diesen Zweck nur teilweise oder?

hier hat sich einer dazu gedanken gemacht und ein paar funktionen gebaut.
ich nehme an, du suchst seine funktion trunc. http://www.cplusplus.com/forum/articles/3638/
edit: ist aber unfug. Xebovs weg ist viel besser.
standard 4.9.1 sagt, daß dabei einfach nur die nachkommastellen abgeschnitten werden.

int int_part = static_cast<int>(float_var);
