weiß jemand wie man bei einem iostream Objekt die Fehler nachfragt.

hab mal ein Beispiel:

if((!rIn)||rA.nen==0) return rIn;
{

if(rIn) rIn.clear (ios::failbit);
rIn.clear(rInstate() | ios::failbit);

Man muss das irgendwie mit dem bitweisen Oder machen.
Welche Bitmaske ist das genau ?
