Es geht eben nur mit OS-spezifischen Mitteln. Unter Windows kann man sich den Device-Kontext des Fensters besorgen, einen Font erstellen und munter im Fenster rumzeichnen. Dummerweise ist das alles plattformabhängig und man bekommt normalerweise nicht mit, wann das Fenster neu gezeichnet werden soll.
