Aktivierung der Arbeitsflächeneffekte unter openSUSE 11.1 nicht möglich

da kennt wohl jemand die Struktur der xorg.conf nicht?

grep Extensions /etc/X11/xorg.conf

bringt hier nichts, weil die für den Threadopener relevante Info in den Zeilen unterhalb der Zeile Section "Extensions" steht. Mit meiner less-Zeile findet er diese Zeile und kann bequem lesen, was unterhalb steht. Mit deiner grep-Zeile nicht.

die xorg.conf kann zB so aussehen:

EndSection

oder auch zB so:

Section "Extensions"
   Option            "Composite" "on"
EndSection

Da bringt es gar nichts, mit

grep /etc/X11/xorg.conf

zu testen, ob die Zeile "Extensions" existiert, die kann auch existieren, wenn "Composite" nicht aktiviert ist.

Hm? Wie schon gesagt, dafür gibts die -A-Option. Wenn Du die kanntest, wird Dir doch bestimmt klar sein, dass und warum man die hier verwenden sollte.

Habe mich nur sehr über Dein Längenargument gewundert.

Vorschlag grep -A ... ist nicht nur keine Verbesserung, sondern auch noch

und daher im Zweifelsfall abzulehnen, punkt.

Abgesehen davon wäre grep -A hier drittens methodisch unschön, weil unbekannt ist, wieviele interessante Zeilen folgen.

Weitere Versuche, mir unbegründet ans Bein zu p*nk*ln, kannst du in Zukunft stecken lassen, auch im Interesse der Sache.

Für mich ist das Thema damit erledigt.

Klar, Du musst mir erklären, wie eine xorg.conf aussieht und wie grep funktioniert.

Du fängst hier allen Ernstes an, Keystrokes zu zählen? "less foo.org[ENTER]/Extensions[ENTER]" ist genau wieviele Keystrokes kürzer als "grep -A5 Extensions foo.org[ENTER]"?

Weitere Versuche, mir unbegründet ans Bein zu p*nk*ln, kannst du in Zukunft stecken lassen, auch im Interesse der Sache.

Aufgrund dieser Keystroke-Geschichte und des Smilies ging ich schlicht davon aus, dass Du -A nicht kanntest und herumblödelst, habe doch extra noch auf -C und -B verwiesen. Dass Du das (a) Ernst meinst und dann (b) noch so schnell sauer wirst, hätte ich einfach nicht gedacht.

nene, problematisch werden deine posts dadurch, dass sie zu anfang keinen mehrwert bringen bzw. auch nicht helfen und du dann die ganze zeit drauf rumreitest statt einfach einzusehen, dass dein post überflüssig war, wie alle folgenden auch.

Ich habe im ersten Thread auf die Fedora-Foren verwiesen, wenn ich das nicht gerade erst gesehen hätte, hätte ich wohl nicht gepostet.

Im zweiten Post dachte ich, dass userl herumblödelt und habe auf -B und -C verwiesen. Erst danach ging er hoch und die Sache wurde völlig überflüssig.

Wenn Du öfters ein Problem mit meinen Beiträgen hast, schreib mir einfach eine Mail.

Wird da einer draus schlau?

Du nutzt den freien Treiber "nv", der besitzt keine 3D-Hardwareunterstützung. OpenSuse sollte beim Installieren eines neuen Treibers die Xorg.conf eigentlich anpassen, daher vermute ich mal, du hast den proprietären Treiber nicht installiert. Siehe ein paar Posts oben.

Ich habe auch das selbe Problem aber erst seit kurzem da es vorher einwandfrei funktioniert hat Weiß einer warum?
