englischer bettelbrief an ritlabs

    Dear Mr. Petrari,

We would buy the licence for 20 seats in a minute, if we had a
    master-card or a visa-card. But we dont't have one.

We can simply buy licences via element5.com, your german reseller. But
    only TheBat!Pro (31,5€), TheBat!Home (21€) and TheBat!Student-Licence
    (12.25€).

I read, TheBat!Student-Licence is for students and pupils. Perhaps not
for the headmaster, deputy headmaster and two clerks. The headmaster
(as now user of Outlook-Express) authorized me to buy four
student-licences. I told him about the ability to train the spamfilter
byself to get a home-brewn and private well-adjusted spam-filter (he
looked interested) and I revealed Outlook as the main target of mail
worms (got two student licences für the clerks). Then I moaned about
the potential trouble when using different software (got four student
licences while he was not very amused).

Me silly did assume, student-licences would embed non-profit-usage.
    You did not write this.

    So my quesiuns are:

    - would you allow us to use four student-licences as non-pupils?

    - or even with your courtesy to accept that we buy some licences at
    more as $20, let's say a TheBat!Home (21€) ($25,16 (dec 15 2005))? In
this case I could install TheBat even at the caretaker's laptop and the
    school's social worker's desktop.

    Yours sincerely

    Volkard Henkel

We unfortunately cannot pay via CC at this time, but we'd really like to buy (oder obtain) a 20 seat license.

The only licences available through your reseller element5.com are TheBat!Pro (31,5€), TheBat!Home (21€) and TheBat!Student-Licence
    (12.25€).

I take it TheBat!Student-Licences seem to be for students and pupils. Perhaps not
for the headmaster, deputy headmaster and two clerks.
Fall 1: Would these licences also hold for our headmaster, the deputy headmaster and the two clerks?
Fall 2: We'd obviously need different licences for the headmaster etc...

The headmaster who has been using Outlook Express up until now authorized four
student licences. I told him about the ability to train the spamfilter
myself to get a home-brewn and private well-adjusted spam-filter (he
looked interested) and I revealed Outlook as the main target of mail
worms (got two student licences for the clerks) (die Anmerkung versteh ich nicht). I also explained the troubles of having multiple main programs in use, but I didn't manage to get him to accept more than four licences.

I presume student licences would basically mean the use of your program in a educational or generally non-profit environment, I'd like some clarification in this matter.

    So my questions are:

    - Would you allow us to use four student-licences as non-pupils?

    - or even with your courtesy to accept that we buy some licences at
more as $20, let's say a TheBat!Home (21€) (25,16 (dec 15 2005))? In this case I could install TheBat even at the caretaker's laptop and the school's social worker's desktop. Wenn ja: Would you be willing to let us use the Home Licence for the employees, also considering the total amount of licences we plan to buy?)

    Yours sincerely

    Volkard Henkel

Edit: Mal durch Spellchecker laufen lassen

  • TripH: Korrigier das besser nochmal, da sind noch einige Fehler drin ("We unfortunately cannot pay via CC at this time", "availible", "director train myself", ...), auch wenn es insgesamt schon ganz passabel ist.

  • So auf die schnelle:

"I take it ... seems to be ..." hört sich absolut grauenhaft an 😃
"I take_it_that/assume/gather_[that] TheBat!Student-Licences ['c' im Orginal? ansonsten, AE oder BE?] are for students [and pupils?] only."

"I presume student licences would basically mean the use of your program in a educational or generally non-profit environment, I'd like some clarification in this matter."
You can't contradict yourself too often, can you? Oder doch lieber "originally presumed"?

    </nitpick>

we need that motherfucking 20 seat license, asshole !

  • Ach so... dachte du meintest mich & meinen Einwand. 🙂

Würd' ich "Unfortunately, we cannot pay by credit card yet." (oder "at the moment" oder "by now") draus machen. Bin aber auch kein doller Englisch-Könner, also Achtung! :xmas1:
