ungültige Emailadresse?

ich versuche jemandem zu antworten, der 2 Punkte in seiner Web.de
Emailadresse hat (z.B. "test..ich@web.de").

Das funktioniert jedoch nicht mit dem Hinweis, dass der Aufbau der Emailaddy
ungültig ist. Der Besitzer der Adresse meint aber es habe wirklich diese
beiden Punkte darin. Der Header der Email bestätigt dies zudem.

Geht das mit den 2 Punkten nun oder nicht? Bzw. nur über Web.de? *verwirrtsei*

RFC 3696:
*"Without quotes, local-parts may consist of any combination of
alphabetic characters, digits, or any of the special characters

! # $ % & ' * + - / = ? ^ _ ` . { | } ~

period (".") may also appear, but may not be used to start or end the
local part, nor may two or more consecutive periods appear. Stated
differently, any ASCII graphic (printing) character other than the
at-sign ("@"), backslash, double quote, comma, or square brackets may
appear without quoting. If any of that list of excluded characters
are to appear, they must be quoted."*

Also offiziell ist das nicht erlaubt. Ich hab allerdings mal versucht mit Opera eine Test-Mail an eine derartige Adresse zu schicken und der hat nicht gemeckert.
Unter Umständen kann man auch die Form "test..ich"@web.de verwenden, jedoch bin ich mir auch nicht sicher, wie das dann genau gehandhabt wird.
