Ich höre nahezu jede Metal-Richtung. Was ich nicht mag, sind z.B. Folkmetall-Geschichten wie Skyclad oder kommerziell ausgerichteten Pseudo-Black-Metal wie Dimmu Borgir (der mit echtem Black Metal eigentlich nix mehr zu tun hat). "New Metal" steht sowieso nicht zur Diskussion, da ich diese Musik nicht wirklich als Metal ansehe. Was ich aber jenseits von Black und Death mag, sind Bands in allen anderen Bereichen (Heavy, Speed, Thrash, auch manche Power-Metal-Sachen...).

Beispiele: Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Manowar, Megadeth, Overkill, Exodus, Destruction, Death Angel, Assassin, Witchfinder General, Sepultura (aber nur den alten Kram), Anthrax, Accept, Candlemass, Danzig, Metallica (auch nur den alten Kram), Motörhead, Annihilator, Agent Steel, Celtic Frost... die Liste kann man endlos weiterführen.

Bei den meisten Bands interessieren mich aber nur die älteren Releases, da viele Bands leider mit der Zeit eine (scheinbar unausweichliche) Entwicklung zum Schlechteren hin durchmachen.
