Programming the ParallelPort with C++ under Linux

Hello together,

I wanna check the parallel port, if a certain pin is '1' or '0'. I want to do this with C++ and on a Linux machine.

Can somebody post me a source code (with explanations) or tell me what headers I need and how to communicate to the parallel port?
